It's been a very, very long week for the Colorado football program.
Now, at 1-2 after the 36-20 loss at Houston, that wasn't even that close, Colorado is in trouble. It has the rest of the Big 12 schedule to deal with, and there aren't any layups.
There's a shot that Deion Sanders' Buffaloes won't be favored in any game the rest of the way after this.
Wyoming got rocked by Utah 31-6 at home last week. It gets a Colorado team desperate for a win to get the season up and rolling with BYU up next. The Cowboys will get two weeks off before facing UNLV.

Colorado desperately misses Shedeur Sanders.
Of course, the Buffaloes aren't better without Travis Hunter, but the offense isn't close to the same without one of the most accurate quarterbacks in college football history.
Colorado is only hitting 61% of its passes, the quarterback play hasn't been good enough, and there's not enough of a running game to make up for it.
Wyoming got pounded on by Utah, but the run defense has been strong so far, the pass D isn't allowing big plays, and ...
Wyoming doesn't have the pop to keep up if Colorado gets going.
The Cowboys are getting hit with too many penalties, there isn't enough pressure to bother the Colorado backfield, and more than anything else ...
There isn't enough offensive pop.
Wyoming is never going to scare anyone with its offense, but it's more about grinding than cranking things up deep. If Colorado can score early and force the Cowboy passing game to get things moving, there won't be a problem.
The Buffaloes are trying to find a little bit of magic, but it's not coming back. That's gone with Shedeur and Travis done, but being methodical will work.
Colorado doesn't care about the time of possession battle, but in this, it'll grind out the running game a bit to go along with the decent tempo from the passing game.
Wyoming has the style to grind things to a halt, but it won't be able to get the offense going when needed.
