Colorado running back Anthony Hankerson plans to hit the Transfer Portal, per a report from On3 on Sunday night.
The Buffs rusher was one of the few remaining holdovers still left in the mix during Deion Sanders' first year in Boulder. He racked up 593 yards with five total TDs over the past two years. This leave three holdovers from 2022 on CU's active roster for now.
Hankerson came to CU as a three-star recruit from St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida). The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder was a top 50 running back in the 2022 class. He doubled as a track star, clocking a 10.9 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
This leaves Sanders needing another back in the Buffs rotation. Dylan Edwards will be a go-to option, but they'll need depth and extra blocking help for Shedeur Sanders. Expect Coach Prime to lock down a stable rusher in the transfer portal, which opens back up in less than 24 hours.
Hankerson will have two years of eligibility remaining.
