After months of deliberation on who should qualify for the College Football Playoff, it's finally time to play the games.

Four teams will move on and four will be eliminated in the first round this weekend, leaving the field at eight for next week's quarterfinals.

Oregon, Arizona State, Boise State and Georgia all earned byes as the top-ranked conference champions in the country.

Two teams will have the spotlight all to themselves on Friday in primetime to kick off the first round, and they're two programs with varying degrees of history and success.

Notre Dame is one of college football's most storied programs, while Indiana is emerging as a top school in football under new head coach Curt Cignetti.

As fans await Friday night's matchup, one outlet is predicting a close win for the Fighting Irish.

According to OddsShark, the score of Friday's game is predicted to be around 38.4-33.8 in favor of Notre Dame. The over is currently set to 50.5 at most sportsbooks, and Oddshark's computer model sees the two teams smashing past it.

The Hoosiers are looking for what would be the biggest win in program history after an incredible regular season. Indiana finished the year 11-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Ohio State.

Notre Dame has also lost once this season, a surprising home defeat to Northern Illinois out of the MAC.

The two teams will look to win and advance to the national quarterfinal, but the road will only get harder as the Playoff goes on. There are great teams on both sides of the bracket, making this one of the more exciting conclusions to a college season in recent memory.

A win over Notre Dame in any setting would be huge for Indiana both locally and nationally, but doing it to end their season in the College Football playoff is monumental.

We'll see if Cignetti and his team have what it takes to come away with the win on Friday night, or if it will be Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish who do enough for the victory in a frigid South Bend.
