In only his 6th start, Kentucky redshirt freshman quarterback Cutter Boley set a new school record for freshman quarterbacks with five touchdown passes in a game against Tennessee on October 25, 2025. He also set a record for single-game completion percentage (minimum 30 attempts) last week, going 31-of-39 for 79.5% against Texas.

Boley’s five touchdown passes in the loss to Tennessee on October 25, 2025, set a new Kentucky freshman record. This was also the most touchdown passes by a Kentucky quarterback in a single game since Andre Woodson (6) in 2007. He finished with 330 passing yards in addition to his five touchdowns and one interception.
The young receiving corps had a strong showing as well, with freshman DJ Miller recording five catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Senior receiver Kendrick Law also contributed with a 71-yard touchdown reception.
Kentucky’s 34 points marked the most the team has scored against a Power Conference opponent since November 2023. This was the first time in 13 games that the Wildcats scored more than two offensive touchdowns.
A pick-six on Kentucky’s second possession and a costly wild fumble play in the first quarter contributed to a 14-0 Tennessee lead that the Wildcats could not overcome.
Cutter Boley possesses the desired build for a quarterback and has elite pocket presence. He is equipped with an arm capable of pinpoint accuracy on short throws and a strong base for downfield passes. He has shown dual-threat capabilities as a runner, capable of extending plays and moving the chains on bootlegs and scrambles.

Despite a rough first start, he has shown consistent growth and improved performance in recent games. He is considered a highly-rated recruit with the potential to develop into a top-tier SEC quarterback.
While the loss extended the Wildcats’ struggles against their rival and in the SEC, the offensive performance provides a potential building block for the future. For a team now 2-5 and 0-5 in the SEC, the progress from its young players, particularly Cutter Boley, offers a much-needed silver lining.
