Even though there's still one game remaining in the 2025-26 college football season, college sports analyst Danny Kanell is already hyped for next season's national championship game.
On the heels of the news that Dante Moore will be returning to Oregon for another season, Kanell boldly asserted that next year's national championship in Las Vegas will see Moore's Ducks take on Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns.
"Texas vs Oregon for the title. January 27th, 2027. In Las Vegas. Book it," Kanell declared.

January 27th, 2027. In Las Vegas.
Book it.
Given that Moore and Manning are likely to be the most-hyped NFL prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft, such a meeting would probably have tons and tons of hype around it.
Of course, both teams would have to make it to the College Football Playoff first, and then win some games before this could even be a conversation.
Fans were initially dismissive of this conversation happening before we've even crowned this year's national champion (Indiana and Miami have yet to play). But some just couldn't help themselves by getting into the discussion:
"You're really betting on Sark getting it together and Dan Lanning being able to coach the team?" one user asked.
"Both are overrated programs. I'd rather not book anything," wrote anoter.
"If they book for 1/27... they are going to be 2 days late, in showing for the game. meanwhile.. once again the college football calendar is broken, that means we will have several weeks between the semis and the championship. Move it to at least 1/18/27, this is terrible," a third wrote, pointing out that Kanell got the date wrong.
Neither Oregon nor Texas have played in a national championship game in years. Oregon's last title game appearance was back in the 2014-15 inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship Game (a loss to Ohio State), while Texas' came in the 2009-10 BCS National Championship Game (a loss to Alabama).
Suffice it to say, both teams are hungry to get back to the promised land.
