Deion Sanders, Colorado Recruiting Four-Star French Phenom

It’s not every day that a player who’s never taken a varsity snap gets a scholarship offer from a Power Four program—let alone one led by Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.

But Ismael Camara isn’t your average high school prospect.

The 6-foot-5, 356-pound offensive lineman with a wingspan stretching over 7 feet made national recruiting waves this week when he received an offer from the Colorado Buffaloes. His reaction? Passionate, poetic, and straight from the heart.

“I want to thank @DeionSanders, @Coach_Gunnar, and @andregurode65 for the opportunity to join the Herd,” Camara wrote on social media. “Any kid from Texas feels good knowing the Cowboys running the rodeo in Boulder… PRIME AIN’T HARD TO FIND. He just makes HARD look easy.”

Originally from Le Mans, France, Camara only moved to Gilmer, Texas, 11 months ago. Since arriving, he’s immersed himself in the culture of high school football—Texas style. Though transfer rules kept him from suiting up for varsity last season, his physical dominance on the sub-varsity squad and a pair of MVP honors at national camps have fast-tracked his recruiting buzz.

At the Navy All-American Combine, Camara claimed Offensive Line MVP honors. He repeated the feat at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas. The offers soon followed—Texas A&M, SMU, Arkansas, Nebraska, and now, Colorado.

“It is a pretty big deal,” Camara told reporters earlier this spring. “Ten months ago, I was in France, and ten months later, I have all this college attention. I work for that. I have been working for that, so I am so thankful.”

Camara has definitely been working to hone is craft. He is not only a beast on the field. He is an absolute monster in the weight room. Footage of him squatting 705 lbs three times has gone viral.

For Coach Prime and the Buffaloes, who are aggressively targeting elite talent in the trenches, Camara’s offer represents more than just a flyer on size. It’s a bet on potential—and a bold future.

And Camara? He’s already locking in.

“I have learned in life that putting hard things behind me means attacking hard things in front of me. So I gotta get on my GRIND,” he wrote.
