The Colorado Buffaloes kicked off the season without Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
Sanders and Hunter led the college football program for two years, helping bring national relevance to Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders.
Deion Sanders was entering his third season with the program when the Buffaloes played the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Week 1.
Without his star players and a new quarterback, Kaidon Salter, the Buffaloes suffered a 27-20 loss to Georgia Tech.
Heading into Week 2 of the season, Sanders was asked about necessary improvements from his team. The reporter mentioned that many times the biggest improvements come from Week 1 to Week 2.
After Sanders mentioned that he's never heard that statement, the reporter explained that former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban formerly had those thoughts.
Sanders then shared high praise for Saban.
"Coach Saban ain't coaching right now," Sanders said, per BuffsTV. "He's the greatest of all time. He can say whatever he want to say. Whatever Coach Saban says, I'm in it.
Nick Saban is widely considered one of the top head coaches in college football history, having created a legacy at Alabama and LSU.
Throughout his time in the college football world, Saban led his teams to seven national titles, 11 SEC titles and one MAC title.
After retiring from being the head coach at Alabama, Saban now serves as an analyst on ESPN's "College GameDay."
Saban works alongside Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and Rece Davis.
