The Cleveland Browns haven't been championship contenders in, well, forever. But Deion Sanders thinks that could change in 2026.

The University of Colorado Buffaloes head coach is speaking out on his son's team, the Cleveland Browns, prior to the start of the 2026 NFL regular season. And he's warning everyone: beware of the Browns.

Coach Prime thinks that the Browns could be one of the NFL's most improved teams during the 2026 regular season. He's high on his son, of course, as Shedeur Sanders will look to keep the starting quarterback job. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders is optimistic about the team's other young players and, especially the defense.

The head coach of the University of Colorado football program is speaking out ahead of the 2026 NFL regular season, making it clear that he believes the Browns could be among the league's best next year.

Coach Prime warns rest of the league

Appearing on The Barbershop with Garrett Bush, Deion Sanders made it clear that he is very high on the Browns.

“Look at that rookie class last season,” Deion said. “The rookie class this season, who I know they haven’t played, they haven’t put it on grass. But they’re building something that is tremendous, and they’re not too far away. Of course, they need stability at the quarterback position. Of course, they need stability on the offensive line. Everything else, to me, they got it. They got it.”

Coach Prime is fed up with the Myles Garrett trade talks, too.

“They got a killer on defense, I’m tired of y’all talking about trading him and getting rid of him,” Deion said. “That don’t make no sense to me. That’s a once in a lifetime man. That’s a once in a lifetime man that you don’t see no more. I don’t get rid of that. Unless I could get your mama, daddy, your uncle, cousins, and everybody in a trade for that. Because that’s a grown man. That’s a winner. That’s a winner.”

It remains to be seen, of course, if Shedeur Sanders will start. There's talk that Deshaun Watson could re-take his starting QB job in 2026.

Deion Sanders might feel differently about the Browns in 2026 if that's the case.
