As Deion Sanders prepares his team for the 2025 Black & Gold Spring Game, he blessed the sneaker community with two new colorways of the Nike Air Diamond Turf 1. With 2024 being the year of the Nike Air DT Max '96 (or Diamond Turf 3), it appears 2025 will be the year of the Diamond Turf 1 remixes.
Coach Prime started the year off strong by releasing the OG colorway (white, black, red, gold) in January. As was the case with the OG black, white, maize colorway of the Diamond Turf 3 last year, the original DT1 released in January sold out in short order. In addition to the original, Deion released the “Signing Day” colorway that was a nod to Deion’s draft day fit of black leather and gold.
The “Signing Day” Diamond Turf 1 is a concept Sneakerheads everywhere should keep in the back of their minds. There has been a noteworthy Nike x Deion Sanders news at almost every noteworthy football date early in 2025.
Sanders unveiled the samples for the “Emerald” and “Must be the Money” colorways of the famous Diamond Turf 1. The Emerald colorway is a return combination as opposed to the Must be the Money, which is a new addition.

The “Emerald” makes its fourth return to consumers. The original 1994, 2010, 2017 and now 2025. The “Emerald” is a slight pivot from the primary design. Unlike the OG colorway, the Emerald adds the strap color (white) to a wing like design that runs almost the length of the shoe from the back heel counter all the way forward, leaving only the very tip of the toe box with that element.
The Emerald design creates more forward ‘flow’ than the OG design. As with all Diamond Turf models, the Emerald continues the gold mesh motif. The mostly black and white design with teal and gold trim is a bold shift in a slightly different direction while maintaining the primary design that made the shoe popular. One significant change though is the inner sock. Unlike most Diamond Turf models, the inner socks have almost a teal and black tiger stripe-like effect adding a certain ‘pop’ to that design element.
The “Must be the Money” is a clean and subdued take on the original DT1. The colorway is a nod to Deion’s hit song of the same name. This colorway is predominantly white, black, gold, and a muted light blue. As described, it sounds “plain” but the elements work well together. The strategic placement of black on the outsole and sock liner Should allow the wearer of this model to keep it looking ‘clean’ longer than a typically mostly white shoe.
Both the Emerald and the Must be the Money colorways showcase white with a darker or lighter option. Making them feel like a spring/fall style offering. At current Nike has not confirmed an official release date but have confirmed “Fall 2025” as the expected release window.
The Colorado Black and Gold Spring Game will be televised live on ESPN2. Coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. ET.
