Deion Sanders Says He’s ‘Still Going Through Something’ in New Video

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is giving fans a candid look into his recovery after months away, and he’s keeping it real.

In a video posted by Well Off Media, his son’s outlet, Sanders sat down in an ice bath and said, “You know I’m still going through something. I ain’t all the way recovered.”

The video offers hope without overpromising. Before slipping into the cold water, Sanders joined his daughter for a light 1.3‑mile run‑walk. He shot a few hoops, took a dip in an ice bath, and mentioned that progress continues, though he paused to say he still feels the lingering effects of whatever side-tracked him this spring and summer.

That candid moment builds on what Sanders shared at Big 12 Media Days, where he confirmed his presence, but stopped short of providing details, noting he was there to talk football, not about his health. This aligns with comments in June, when Sanders reported losing 14 pounds and enduring energy dips from a “whole other level” of illness.

Sanders has endured serious medical setbacks in recent years—two toes amputated in 2021 due to blood clots, followed by 2023 emergency treatment for more clots. His return has been carefully paced. According to a June update, he’s now rehabbing with a weighted vest, posting progress updates, and preparing to head back to Colorado soon.

The mystery remains what exactly he’s pushing through this time. But this ice bath session shows he’s in action, no smoke and mirrors—more a coach in rehab than retreat. With fall camp around the corner and his team awaiting direction, fans can see he’s working his way back and making it known.

Sanders said the whole picture will come once he’s back in Boulder. Until then, this moment in freezing water speaks volumes. He’s handling his health as he handles coaching—with hustle, transparency, and no shortcuts.
