The College Football 25 ratings drop definitely sparked some controversy among players, coaches, and fans. Even though the Colorado Buffaloes earned a surprisingly high team grade, head coach Deion Sanders still had comments about how his two best players stand. See what Sanders said about Shedeur Sanders' and Travis Hunters' ratings at the Big 12 Media Day.
The release of EA Sports College Football 2025 is fast approaching. Among the advanced details shared are the player ratings, including for Travis Hunter, the dual-threat from Colorado Buffaloes.
Shedeur Sanders ranks among the top 100 players released by EA for the game, boasting a 93 overall rating. He shares this rating with Carson Beck, but Sanders is listed as the 17th top player, slightly ahead of Beck, ranked 18th.
“I’m just trying to figure out how can Shedeur be tied with another person,” Deion Sanders said. “How did that happen? And how can Travis not have the highest score on the game when he’s arguably the best receiver and the best defensive back in college football? So, how can you not be the number one rated guy, period? I don’t understand that either.
So, I don’t get that stuff and where it comes from, but it’s good because it’s good conversational pieces."
Hunter has been rated 95 overall in the upcoming video game, positioning him among the top players featured. Yet, his coach, Deion Sanders, seems puzzled by this rating, considering Hunter's capabilities on the field.
Deion Sanders stated, “I really don’t have any insight into that video game. I’m not really into video games. I have a preference for actual games. So, discussions about ratings and ranks, I’m not familiar with those.”
Travis Hunter is ranked as the sixth-best player nationally. He stands out as one of only seven players to receive a 95 overall rating in the game, earning him the top spot among wide receivers. However, Will Johnson from Michigan boasts a higher rating as a cornerback.

Even the most talented athletes can still enhance their skills. Deion Sanders is aware of this fact, and he recognizes it especially in Travis Hunter, whom he considers the nation's top player.
“(He can improve) consistency. We’re praying that he stays away from injury that you saw last season,” Sanders said.
“But the kid is, to me, the best football player in the nation. And I think we have two of the top football players in the nation, and I think we’re going to — you’re gonna see a couple more catapult themselves into that early first round. We have those type of players in our locker room.”
