Being a college football head coach is more than Xs and Os, building relationships with coaches around the state to build connections or pipelines with recruits or being a salesman to attract those recruits to the program. Ultimately, there are at least 100 young men on a college football team who will need coaching, guidance and leadership.
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, while on his We Got Time Today show with host Rocsi Diaz, discussed traveling with one of his players, wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr., to visit his father in prison. Sanders discussed the heartwarming experience of being there with his player. Seeing a father, despite being incarcerated, continue to be present in his son's life as best he can was a touching and tear-jerking experience for Sanders.

Horn, a senior from Sanford, Florida, was originally recruited by Sanders to attend Jackson State while coaching there, but Horn eventually chose to attend the University of South Florida. When Sanders moved to Colorado, Horn transferred to join the Buffaloes ahead of the 2023 season.
Last year, Horn caught 58 passes for 567 yards and six touchdowns. Injuries cut short Horn's season, but he still collected 33 receptions for 434 yards and a score.
Horn projects as a late-round or undrafted free agent prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft with added value as a kick returner.
