Deion Sanders issued a heartfelt warning to his players and staff via social media on Sunday morning. In a message mixed with care and caution, Coach Prime got real for a moment.
“All my @CUBuffsFootball PLAYERS & STAFF. I love u @ I miss u. Please be safe & don’t do anything to jeopardize your opportunity to be a Professional. Be careful out there because everyone around u ain’t really down for u and everybody else is just there. #Truth #CoachPrime.”

It was a rare recent post from Sanders, who has been quieter than usual as the Buffaloes prepare for a pivotal 2025 season in Boulder. He has also been soaking up time as a grandparent and missed Travis Hunter's wedding, which adds to the intrigue.
The warning follows a series of reflective messages from Sanders, including a cryptic post on Friday. “Let’s stop allowing wrong to Linger in our lives as it pleases... Wrong is Wrong! Let’s live right baby. #CoachPrime.” Still, his message was clear that Sanders expects his team to stay focused and avoid off-field distractions.

Linger in our lives as it pleases. Let's tell wrong it's wrong & we don't want no part in it. We've turned a blind eye to wrong so long that it feels comfortable next to right. “We’re Trippin!Wrong is Wrong! Let's live right baby. #CoachPrime
With stars Shedeur Sanders and Hunter headed for the NFL, Colorado enters a new era. The quarterback battle between Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and five-star freshman Julian Lewis will define the program’s direction. Salter brings experience, but Lewis is considered the future.
Despite questions about Sanders’ long-term commitment, his recent five-year, $54 million extension made him the highest-paid coach in the Big 12 and sends a strong message that Coach Prime is all in.
For the third straight season, Colorado will open in prime time. The Buffs host Georgia Tech at Folsom Field on August 29, airing at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Sanders era is far from over and simply entering its next chapter.
