Dontay Corleone Named to Fourth Major Preseason Award Watchlist

UC defensive tackle Dontay Corleone landed on the Chuck Bednarik Award watchlist on Wednesday. It's the fourth major watchlist for the star stuffer and a rarity in the Big 12. The Bednarik Award goes to the "most outstanding" defensive player in college football.

Only one other Big 12 defensive tackle (Texas Tech's Jaylon Hutchings) made the 85-player list.

Corleone is coming off a great season on UC's interior defensive line, finishing the 2022 campaign with 44 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles as PFF's highest-graded defensive player in the country.

He should build on a burgeoning NFL Draft profile this coming season after also landing on the Walter Camp, Outland, and Nagurski watchlists.
