EA Sports won't commit to release date for widely anticipated 'NCAA Football' game

Fans of EA Sports and specifically fans of its college football series have been chomping at the bit for any information regarding the release of the wildly anticipated video game that hasn't seen an update since "NCAA Football 14"

From 1993 to 2013, the game was a hit. Much like the popular "Madden" series for NFL fans, the "NCAA Football" franchise allowed fans to control a football program from all of the major conferences as well as several of the smaller conferences.

It included mascots, realistic stadiums and fan chants, but in the era before NIL deals, none of the players had their names on the back of the jerseys even though their numbers and likenesses were used.

It had its flaws, of course, but the game coming back after 10 years has been all the rage among the college football community. Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that EA Sports had a firm release date of July 12, 2024, in mind.

While that announcement was met with jubilee, EA Sports executive John Reseburg has since clarified that a release date is not set in stone yet.

The good news? We know it's coming.

The bad news? Hold your horses, college football fans. We still don't know when.
