Early predictions for 2027 Notre Dame offensive recruiting targets who could land with HC Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish

Head coach Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame football are riding a ton of momentum following an outstanding recruiting weekend for their matchup against the USC Trojans. We have already seen the Fighting Irish land 2027 Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic offensive tackle James Halter, a talented legacy for the program. Everyone is expecting Freeman and his staff to go on a pretty remarkable recruiting run, and Halter is viewed as just the start of it.

On the offensive side of the football, the 2027 class has a chance to be an outstanding one for Notre Dame. There are several top targets that are on the board who are trending quickly to the Irish. Here are a few players that I would predict to end up in the class as of today.

RB Kemon Spell - McKeesport (Pa.) High School

Spell was formerly committed to Penn State, but backed off of his Nittany Lion pledge after the program fired head coach James Franklin. Even before that decision was made, things had been trending well for Notre Dame. The five-star runner originally committed to running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider while he was still with Penn State. That relationship has paid huge dividends so far, and will offer them a great chance to land the 5-9, 205-pound athlete in the end.

RB Amir Brown - Rolesville (N.C.) High School

While Spell might be talked about most by the Notre Dame fanbase, don’t underrate just how talented a player Brown is. Notre Dame has been recruiting the state of North Carolina at an extremely high level recently, and Brown is firmly a part of that push. He was formerly committed to UNC but backed off that commitment recently. The Irish look like the program to beat for the 5-10, 200-pound runner.

WR Quentin Burrell - Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel

While Notre Dame continues to push to make a huge impact in Chicago in 2027, there may not be a bigger target than Burrell. The 6-3, 175-pound pass catcher is the perfect boundary receiver in the Irish offensive system and is one of the more productive wide receivers in the 2027 class. The Fighting Irish have seemingly been leading for Burrell for quite some time. This feels like a matter of when, not "if" he joins the class.

WR Julius Jones Jr. - Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas

If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Jones is the son of former Notre Dame star running back of the same name. The 5-10, 175-pound wide receiver is a dynamic weapon with the football in his hands. Jones has been one of the more productive pass catchers for a school that puts out a ton of talent to the college level. He’s as close to a "can’t miss recruit" as you have in the 2027 group.

WR AJ Roberts - Rolesville (N.C.) High School

While Roberts is lower rated compared to the previous two names, he is a player that Notre Dame likes a lot. A teammate of Brown, Roberts is a 6-2, 185-pound wideout who offers a lot of upside. The Irish are pushing hard for Roberts to be a part of this class.

TE Seneca Driver - Danville (Ky.) Boyle County

The nephew of former Notre Dame safety Tony Driver, the Danville, Kentucky native is one of the more physically gifted tight ends in the entire country. Already viewed as a Top-100 overall player, he is an impressive athlete at nearly 6-7 and 235 pounds. The Irish are currently leading for Driver, and there’s no questioning that he is a priority in the class.

OT Cameron Wagner - Saint Joseph (Ill.) Ogden

At 6-6 and 300 pounds, Wagner possesses the size and physicality that offensive line coach Joe Rudolph loves. There is a good chance that Wagner can stick at offensive tackle on the next level, but he could eventually thrive inside as well if the need is there. Wagner is a part of the local push we are seeing from the Fighting Irish staff so far in the 2026 class.
