Ed Orgeron is one of those people in college sports who just never ceases to amaze. No matter how long he's been out of coaching, he always knows how to put a smile on someone's face when asked about stuff revolving around CFB. This time, he's discussing his interest in the LSU head coaching job after they fired Brian Kelly following an embarrassing loss to Texas A&M.
The former Tigers head coach was asked about his interest in returning to the Bayou by ESPN’s Evan Cohen on Wednesday. You never have to worry about Orgeron telling the truth in his eyes, and he did exactly that in this scenario as well. He'd love to be back with LSU.
"I’d love to. Are you kidding me? I just gotta get in my truck. I’ll be there today!" -- Ed Orgeron on his interest in returning to LSU

Oregon wants everyone to know that his passion hasn't wavered when it comes to coaching college football in general also. He told On3 that it is a two-way street, though. The veteran leader understands his value as a piece to a staff, regardless of his role.
“If I interview, I want them to want me as much as I want them. I’m a championship coach, and I’m going to bring a winning program to their university.” -- Orgeron via On3
Bringing Orgeron back to the Tigers would be an incredibly risky and bold move by the university. Orgeron has been out of coaching since his departure from the program, and there are plenty of people around college football who think a return as an assistant makes more sense than as a head coach of a major program for Orgeron at this stage of his career.
That being said, you can't doubt his confidence in himself and clear interest in trying to bring LSU back to glory ig he got the opportunity in Baton Rouge.
