Lance Leipold has put together quite a 2026 recruiting class for the Kansas Jayhawks.
So far, KU has reeled in a pair of 4-stars and 13 3-stars, good for eighth in national recruiting rankings.
It may not be long before the Jayhawks add another 4-star.
Running back Kory Amachree announced his final six schools this Saturday on X. His final list includes Kansas, Indiana, Michigan State, Duke, Pittsburgh, and Harvard.

With 39 confirmed Division I offers, Amachree is one of the most coveted running backs in the country. 247 Sports Composite rankings list him as the 351st-best player and 24th-best running back in his graduating year.
Amachree is listed at 6-foot, 195 pounds entering his senior year. He attends Haslett High School in Michigan.
He took an official visit to Kansas in April after previously visiting unofficially.
Running backs coach Jonathan Wallace and wide receivers coach Terrence Samuel are reportedly the two coaches most involved in his recruitment on KU's end.
Another potential backfield addition on the Jayhawks' radar is DeZephen Walker, as the coaching staff recently completed an in-home visit with the Missouri native.
Amachree is expected to visit Michigan State on June 1, his last trip before making a college decision, which will come sometime this summer.
A 247 Sports staff member already placed a crystal ball prediction for Amachree to land at Michigan State. However, the Jayhawks are still firmly in the mix for the standout tailback.

Major college football coach says athletes, society 'softer'
West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez didn't hold back on what he thought of his team and the "society" of the United States in general following the Mountaineers' second day of practice on Thursday. "I'm not trying to go on a political rant or whatever but, generally, we're softer as a society," Rodriguez told reporters, via Chris Anderson of 247Sports. "We're softer as athletes...b/c everything they're around is 'How can we make it easier for them' instead of make it hard on them to learn to get through hard times." The comments came after a practice where only two of the Mountaineers' running backs completed practice, per Mike J. Asti. Rodriguez is in his first season in his second stint with WVU. Things were a little different when he last coached the Mountaineers in 2007. There was no NIL, and coaches had more power over players in their program. Rodriguez thinks coaches and players are spoiled in the modern era of college football, as shared by Anderson. "Have you been through this building? Have you seen how we eat? They got it pretty well," Rodriguez said. "They live in a fantasy world. Coaches do, too. We want for nothing. "You want food? You want medical health? You want job help? You want financial help? Cold tubs? Hot tubs? We even got an ice cream machine...free! Probably even got the sprinkles to put on it. They got it pretty good, and now they're getting paid." College athletes do have it better than ever, at least materially. Based on the lucrative TV contracts surrounding the sport, the product hasn't suffered despite the increasing entitlements for players. But that can easily change if the new generation refuses to practice.
Yankees release disappointing starting pitcher
The New York Yankees added seven impactful players before Thursday's whirlwind trade deadline. But they weren't done making major moves. On Friday, the team announced the release of 34-year-old starter Marcus Stroman to make room for the influx of three recently acquired bullpen arms. The 11-year MLB veteran had a 6.23 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 39 innings and the lowest strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.63) of his career. In April, the right-hander was sidelined by knee inflammation, limiting him to nine games this season. Stroman had much to prove this season. After posting a 4.31 ERA last season (his first with the Yankees), he was subject of trade rumors. This seemed to upset Stroman, who made a scene in spring training when asked about potentially losing his spot in the rotation and being moved to the bullpen. Stroman’s release is a strong endorsement of rookie right-hander Cam Schlittler, the team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB.com. The 24-year-old impressed in the minors this season (2.82 ERA in Class AA and AAA). He got a call-up this season in the wake of injuries to the rotation. In the majors, he has a 4.91 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 14.2 innings. RHP Luis Gil will assume Stroman’s spot in rotation and make his long-awaited return Sunday. Last season’s AL Rookie of the Year hasn't pitched in a regular-season game in 2025 because of a LAT injury he suffered in spring training. With Gil's return and the return to health of LHP Ryan Yarbrough (oblique), the Yankees will soon have six rotation options. They'll have help with the bullpen additions of David Bednar (acquired from the Pirates), Jake Bird (acquired from the Rockies) and Camilo Doval (acquired from the Giants). Each is under club control through at least 2026.
Erik Karlsson's Trade Demands to the Penguins Release Publicly
Erik Karlsson is one of a few Penguins likely on the move soon, and now the one thing the veteran blue liner wants in a new team has been officially revealed. After missing the Stanley cup Playoffs for three straight seasons, the Pittsburgh Penguins come into this off-season as sellers, with the trio of Rickard Rakell, Bryan Rust and Erik Karlsson becoming notable names in trade speculation. While all three have a high likelihood of being moved as Kyle Dubas and the Penguins look towards the future, NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has suggested this off-season that Karlsson is the most likely of all to be moved in the summer. Now, Seravalli has followed up on the speculation, revealing another key piece of this scenario, as the veteran NHL Insider notes the one demand that Karlsson has in potential trade talks. According to Seravalli, Karlsson wants a chance to win, and given the contract that a team would potentially need to take on to bring him in, it's safe to say that only contending teams out there would be interested, with very little in it for teams that won't be chasing a Stanley Cup in the near future. As of right now, there are very few teams around the NHL that could fit Karlsson in as well as giving him the opportunity to win, with Detroit, Dallas and Carolina three teams that fit the bill, with all three having rumoured interest in an upgrade on their blue line. Ultimately, all the signs this off-season point to Karlsson being moved at some point before the 2025/26 campaign begins, and while the options are limited given his contract and his desire to win, there's no reason why a trade can't be made in the next few months.
