Elite FCS Pass Rusher Ty French Chooses WVU

Monday evening, the West Virginia Mountaineers picked up a huge commitment in transfer portal from Gardner-Webb defensive end/outside linebacker Ty French.

For his career, French has racked up 239 tackles, 61 tackles for loss, 34.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and an interception. Below are his year by year stats.

French was named to the All-Big South First Team Defense and led the conference in sacks. He's also a three-time All-American.

Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Western Kentucky also reached out to French with an offer.

He has one year of eligibility remaining.
