Elite five-star WR recruit explains why he committed to Big Ten program

Kesean Bowman is one of the best 2027 wide receiver recruits in the country.

A five-star recruit from Brentwood, Tennessee (Brentwood Academy), he's ranked as the No. 6 wideout in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, and is the No. 36 recruit overall.

Bowman already has nearly 40 offers to his name, and despite the fact that he still has his junior and senior years of high school left, he had already trimmed his interest list down to Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU and Oregon.

Making a decision on Thursday, Bowman ended up committing to Dan Lanning and the Ducks, though wide receivers coach Ross Douglas definitely deserves the assist.

“I like Coach Douglas a lot and the coaching staff,” Bowman told Steve Wiltfong of On3. “Building a relationship with them is fun."

Alongside the coaching staff, Bowman also liked some of the other amenities Oregon had to offer.

"The facilities, the hospitality and the connections I have and relationship I have with Oregon," he listed as the reasons he decided to commit to the Ducks.

Bowman is only Lanning's second 2027 commitment, but Oregon is already building something impressive now that they have a five-star aboard for 2027.

As a sophomore for his high school, Bowman caught 56 passes for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns.
