Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes have been active in the transfer portal this year, landing quarterback Carson Beck from the Georgia Bulldogs, along with Wisconsin DB Xavier Lucas, among many other players.

Another blue-chip prospect just became available on Friday night, and he's got ties to the Hurricanes as well.

It was reported by multiple sources that Oklahoma Sooners sophomore DT David Stone is entering the transfer portal and looking to leave Norman. Stone is a former 5-star recruit who was rated as the No. 9 player in the 2024 class.

Despite his high ranking, Stone did not see much of the field as a true freshman for the Sooners, totaling just six tackles and one sack last season.

Before Stone chose to stay home in Oklahoma and join the Sooners as a member of the 2024 class, he showed somer real interest in the Hurricanes. After placing Miami among his top schools and taking multiple visits to Coral Gables, one 247Sports recruiting analyst predicted that Stone would end up with the Hurricanes.

In the end, he decided to go with Brent Venables and the Sooners. However, after a year, he is looking to change things up and find a new home.

The Hurricanes already added one transfer on the defensive line, landing David Blay Jr. from Central Florida. They also have players like Reuben Bain Jr. and Justin Scott projected to start on the defensive line as well.

Don't be surprised if they choose to go after Stone, though, and see if they can get another high-ceiling player on the roster and into the mix going into a highly-anticipated 2025 season.
