Alabama football continues to be a main topic of discussion in week one of the college football season, following its upset defeat to Florida State in Tallahassee on Saturday.
With everyone crashing down on the Tide, ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback, Dan Orlovsky is the latest to join in on the party by voicing his criticism on the problems that plagued the Alabama defense after giving up over 230 rushing yards against the Seminoles in their 31-17 loss.
“If Nick Saban watched this tape back yesterday, he would have kicked some of these kids off the team,” Orlovsky said. “That’s how bad it was.. Alabama’s problem is their controllable’s. When you watch this defense run to the football, you like ‘where is the effort to the ball? the angles to the ball? the tackling to the ball? It’s not a talent issue, it’s a controllable’s issue. And I think it is fair to say, ‘can Kalen DeBoer survive September? I know they have Louisiana-Monroe coming up and then it’s Wisconsin, and then it’s Georgia. When you watch this tape, they look like a shell of what Nick Saban built them to become when it comes to effort and toughness and desire. They look like a shell of themselves.”
Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football will look to get themselves back on the train tracks this week as the Tide prepares to welcome the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks to Saban-Field at Bryant Denny Stadium on September 6 for their home opener.
