The hype for the Texas Longhorns in 2023 is real.
Sure, the human highlight reel — running back Bijan Robinson — is now in the NFL, but there are still plenty of reasons to tune in to watch the Longhorns in 2023. There's also plenty of reason to believe that Texas can be a real contender in head coach Steve Sarkisian's third season in Austin.
Fans are so excited, in fact, that Texas has announced that 2023 season tickets are already sold out.
It's not even July yet.

College football insider Brett McMurphy provided more insight into the accomplishment by Texas football. More than 68,000 tickets have been sold, and that number doesn't even include student tickets, which will surpass 20,000.
One of the reasons to tune in to watch Texas this season is because it will be a historic one. This will be Texas' (and Oklahoma's) last season in the Big 12 before they jump ship to the SEC in 2024. The move to the SEC will bring more money and prestige, but also a much tougher conference schedule for the Longhorns.
This season's team is also stacked. It's led by quarterback Quinn Ewers, who is looking to improve on an impressive redshirt freshman campaign. If he goes down or a change is needed, the Longhorns also have Arch Manning of Manning family fame waiting in the wings.
There are also big expectations for wide receiver Xaiver Worthy, who was a freshman All-American in 2021 (981 yards and 12 touchdowns) and still put up 760 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore despite apparently playing the second half of last season with broken hand.
Texas has 18-1 odds to win the national championship in 2023, tied with Clemson and Florida State and behind only Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Michigan and LSU.
