It’s no secret there are plenty of WVU fans who want Neal Brown to be fired. However, it’s one thing to voice displeasure on social media, but it’s another to actually put your money where your mouth is on the topic. And now there are fans doing just that.

After a failed attempt to fly a “Fire Neal Brown” banner over Milan Puskar Stadium during West Virginia’s loss to Kansas State, members of Mountaineer Nation are now going a different route. WVU fans started a website “FireNealBrown.org” dedicated to removing Brown as head coach.

This site features Brown’s record and negative facts about his tenure at WVU while also allowing people to donate money to the Mountaineer Athletic Club with the hope it goes towards paying Brown’s buyout.

The person who created the website even added answers to possible frequently asked questions.

What’s the purpose and what’s next?

“Our purpose is to send a message, that we fans, have had enough of this. We believe that message has already been received even without the plane having flown. However, we are in the process of delivering our commitment. If you can dream it, we’re trying to do it. Our message will get out there.”

Why not raise money for something else? Isn’t this mean?

“The members of the Wolf Pack are donors to the university, the CRT, and the MAC. We’re members of your communities. Last year we raised over $100k in 48 hours for the MAC. It went largely unnoticed. Our message is not personal, it has nothing to do with Neal Brown as a person. This is about purely the product on the field.”

For a related story, WVU head coach Neal Brown dismissed the idea of a quarterback change for any reason other than injury.
