Fans of the Tennessee Vols and Georgia Bulldogs now can make their tailgating plans ahead of September matchup

When it comes to college football, tailgating for many schools is every bit as big as the game itself.  Fans love to plan out what trips they're going to take, what they're going to bring, and what time they're going to get there. Naturally, it's not possible to fully plan those things out until the game times have been announced.

For Tennessee's biggest home game of the 2025 season, that happened on Thursday.  Tennessee announced that their kickoff on September 13 against the Georgia Bulldogs will be at 3:30 pm ET on ABC.

Tennessee also announced their game time the week before against ETSU, which will also be at 3:30 pm ET and will be broadcast on the SEC Network+.  The Vols' opener against Syracuse was previously revealed to be a noon kickoff

Tennessee meeting Georgia at 3:30 pm inside Neyland Stadium is nothing new in recent years, as the Vols and Dawgs have played at exactly that same time going back to 2019, which was the last night game in the series in Knoxville.  Tennessee also previously announced that the Georgia game would be the annual "checker Neyland" game.

The Vols are hoping for a different, i.e., better, result against their SEC and border rival.  The Dawgs have won 8 straight over Tennessee going back to the Vols' 34-31 "Dobbnail Boot" Hail Mary win over Georgia on October 1, 2016.  One more win by the Bulldogs would tie the longest winning streak in the series - held by Tennessee from 1989-1999.

Tennessee has managed to level the playing field with Florida and Alabama after years of futility. We'll see if Josh Heupel and his Vols can start to flip that trend in front of a wild crowd on September 13.
