Fenway Bowl, Military Bowl both canceled due to COVID issues

Two more bowl games are off the schedule. Both the Fenway Bowl and Military Bowl were canceled Sunday due to COVID outbreaks, according to Brett McMurphy of Action Network.

McMurphy tweeted that the Virginia Cavaliers canceled their Sunday flight to Boston due to COVID issues, and the Southern Methodist Mustangs delayed their flight. The two were set to meet in the Fenway Bowl on Wednesday.

The Military Bowl was scheduled to be a Monday matchup between the East Carolina Pirates and Boston College Eagles but was canceled due to COVID issues for BC.

Earlier this week, the Hawaii Bowl was canceled after the Hawaii Warriors pulled out of the game due to a combination of COVID cases, injuries and transfers.

College bowl games will continue until Jan. 4, and the season will conclude with the College Football Playoff Championship on Jan. 10.
