Five Ohio State Buckeyes make latest 2025 NFL mock draft
Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The Ohio State Buckeyes have massive expectations entering the 2024 season after reloading with several key transfer additions and keeping top talent from last year's roster. In the latest one-round 2025 NFL mock draft from The 33rd Team, the Buckeyes see a whopping five selections come off the board.

Which Buckeyes made the first-round mock draft?

Five Buckeyes Selected in 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Some of my picks at The 33rd Team might be surprising player-team fits, but not necessarily the players themselves. For example, the first player from Ohio State who came off the board was wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka would've been a top-50 pick in this previous class, but was mocked in the first round until injuries and limited film cost him a large chunk of last season.

The back half of the first round was loaded with Buckeyes after Egbuka was the only player who was selected in the top 16 picks. Defensive tackle Tyleik Williams, running back Quinshon Judkins, cornerback Denzel Burke, and edge rusher Jack Sawyer rounded out the Buckeyes taken.

Let's look at each projection.

Rams Add Emeka Egbuka to Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp

This one might be the biggest surprise because of the fit, but Egbuka is exactly the type of receiver Sean McVay loves. He's fast, quick, tough after the catch, versatile, and sure-handed. Kupp is aging and getting more expensive, so retooling the offense around Nacua and Egbuka makes sense.

This is also assuming Egbuka has a big bounce-back season in 2024. We expect Egbuka to reemerge as a top playmaker no longer in Marvin Harrison II's shadow.

Tyleik Williams Lands in Miami

The Buckeyes have a deep array of defensive line talent, so it's a matter of who breaks out. Tyleik Williams probably won't have the huge sack numbers because he's a part-time player compared to J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer, but he's a phenomenal talent.

He's been weighed everywhere from 290 pounds to over 320. If it's the latter, and he continues to move as well as he does, Williams will soar up boards.

Bengals Draft Quinshon Judkins 28th Overall

We will see the Cincinnati Bengals projected to take a running back until Chase Brown proves himself as a quality starter. In fairness, Brown will probably be as effective as Joe Mixon, who was behind a bad offensive line. But adding a real playmaker like Quinshon Judkins is tempting.

Judkins is fantastic. He's the best back we've seen come out in a few years, so it's hard to imagine he doesn't make the first round as RB values start to improve.

Denzel Burke Goes to Buffalo at End of First Round

Burke was another player who probably had a good shot to make the end of the first round this past year. A playmaker with the traits to be a dominant man coverage option thanks to his speed and nimble feet, Burke's limitations are also clear. His size will always be a bit of a concern, but he'd be a huge upgrade for Buffalo's mediocre corner room.

We want to see more physicality and better timing from Burke to reach his potential. He has the right mindset, but he's not a super-long player in coverage, so he can be beaten over the top.

49ers Pair Jack Sawyer With Nick Bosa

All of the advanced metrics love Jack Sawyer, and if you watch the right games in 2023, you'll see a potential NFL star. He's capable of playing a huge number of snaps and still being effective. He's a stellar run defender already; now it's a matter of bringing his tools together consistently as a pass-rusher.
