Brandon Arrington is a major recruit in the class of 2026. The five-star cornerback/athlete from Spring Valley, California, has offers from all over the country, with nearly 50 to his name, but he's ready to start narrowing things down and ultimately make a decision.
Wherever he ends up, he's going to be a big-time get on the recruiting trail. There are five schools in contention for his commitment, and true to form, they're all college football bluebloods.
The top five list includes Alabama, Penn State, Texas A&M, Oregon and USC.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Arrington has decided he's going to make his commitment on July 5, so he'll know where he's playing by the time his senior season in high school rolls around.

Notably, Arrington has a slew of official visits to help him make his decision. He'll visit with Penn State on May 2, Texas A&M on June 5, Alabama on June 13, USC on June 17 and Oregon on June 20.
As to why he's chosen these top five schools, it comes down to the connections for him. He can also visualize himself making plays for the Nittany Lions, Aggies, Crimson Tide, Trojans or Ducks.
“I am about relationships and who’s been in it with me,” Arrington told On3 in March as he started cutting down his interest list. “I can see myself at any of these schools and they all know how to develop players.”
Notably, Georgia was in his top six, but Arrington is no longer considering the Bulldogs.
Arrington is a two-sport athlete who is a football and track star for Mount Miguel High School. He won state titles in 2024 in track and field in the 100-meter with a 10.33 time and in the 200-meter with a 20.55 time.
On the football field, he can play wide receiver, cornerback and he's also a returner on special teams.
Arrington is an elite athlete, which is why the 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 1 athlete recruit in the 2026 class and the No. 9 recruit overall. On3 projects him more as a cornerback and ranks him as the top corner recruit in the 2026 class.
His high school coach, Verlain Betofe, believes Arrington's speed will be his calling card at the high school level, no matter where he plays and what position he ends up at.
“Brandon is Olympic fast, and he is a track star too, so once he focuses fully on football, it will be scary. Brandon has never played football full time, so once he does and continues to develop, he has a chance to go down as the best to come out of San Diego and go in the first round of the NFL Draft," Betofe said, according to On3.
