Five-star recruit sparks strong reactions after visiting Deion Sanders and Colorado

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are making major strides on the recruiting trail, especially with five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan taking an official visit to Boulder.

The No. 2 wideout in the country and 19th overall recruit in the 2026 class seemed to enjoy his time over the weekend. His visit included a photoshoot in full uniform on top of the Champions Center, which drew a comment from five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, simply saying “Easy.” The chemistry between Lewis and Morgan could become a major storyline if he commits to Colorado on July 2.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Benjamin Russell High School (Alabama) standout brings elite speed and size to the receiver position. With Colorado losing several key wideouts to the NFL, including Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, and Jimmy Horn Jr., the Buffaloes are looking to reboot their offense with dynamic talent. Morgan could replace 2025 four-star recruit Adrian Wilson, who left for North Carolina.

Coach Prime is not focused on stacking numbers in recruiting classes; he wants ready-to-play talent. Thus why there an emphasis on building a majority of the roster from the transfer portal. What sets Colorado apart from other schools will be early playing time and NFL development. The Buffaloes' coaching staff is filled with former NFL players, offering recruits a hands-on approach from those who’ve played at the highest level.

With schools like Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Florida also in the mix, Colorado faces stiff competition. But with Sanders’ star power and an NFL pipeline, the Buffs are firmly in the race. If Morgan commits, it could mark a new era in Boulder, with Lewis and Morgan forming a dynamic tandem to lead Colorado's offense into the future.
