GLENDALE, ARIZONA– Penn State fans who have been dying to see James Franklin meet Flavor Flav now have their wish.

The music icon and the established coach shook hands after Franklin led PSU into the stadium for its Fiesta Bowl/College Football Playoff clash with Boise State New Year’s Eve night.

Flav and Franklin talked about Flav’s PSU connection because, yes, indeed, that does exist.

Flav’s cousin is Shep Garner, who is fifth all-time on the Penn State scoring list. Flav then told Franklin that Garner is an assistant for Pat Chambers, who coached Garner at Penn State. Chambers is now the boss at Florida Gulf Coast.

Oh, and Flav indeed picked Penn State to win.

“This is Flavor Flav with the heavy plate,” Flav told Mark Wogenrich of Sports Illustrated, “and I just can’t wait to get back to Penn State—Nittany Lions in the building. We are… Penn State. Thank you… you’re welcome.”

Penn State and Boise State will kick off at roughly 7:40 eastern time.
