It's a very open secret that the Florida Gators are heavily pursuing Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin to lead their program into the future. He got his first win over the Gators on Saturday 34-24, and was asked about the possibility of taking the job.

“I love what we’re doing here. Today was awesome. To even talk about it right now would be so disrespectful to our players and what they did today,” said Kiffin. “I love it here at Ole Miss.”

Gators radio analyst believes Lane Kiffin to Florida is already done

We knew coming out of the game that there would be a multitude of reports about Kiffin, whether good or bad, from the perspective of the Gators. Jacksonville's 1010XL, the radio home of the Gators, has a postgame show called Swamp Sessions, and hosts Dan Hicken and Jeff Prosser believe that Kiffin is already signed, sealed, and delivered to Florida.

"We're not going to sit here and tell you Kiffin is coming to Gainesville, but all indications to me, and I'll let you speak for yourself [Prosser], are that Kiffin is coming to Gainesville," said Hicken. "They have agreed to everything, and I hear [the announcement] is after the Egg Bowl."

That's a huge statement from Hicken. It's not a firm guarantee, but the level of confidence in those words is strong. That confidence got backed up

"All I'll say is, last week I'm hearing this or that. Now I'll tell you they've met with him [Kiffin]. Yes, they definitely [met]. They flew to [Oxford]," said Prosser. "Look, I'm not tracking planes but I've heard that a former visor-wearing head coach was part of the group that went. And I completely trust that angle. Now, until he announces, until it's signed, sealed, and delivered, nobody knows for sure, right? Listen, just never know. So we'll see."

The idea that Spurrier was a part of the contingency that met with Kiffin is very important, as the latter has been open about how much he idolizes the former. Will Kiffin end up announcing after the Egg Bowl? Only time will tell, but all the vibes surrounding the Florida Gators media are that it's going to happen.
