The Florida Gators ' 2026 recruiting class is shaping up to be a really good one for head coach Billy Napier. Even so, they aren't ignoring the 2027 recruiting class. In fact, you could argue they are making it a priority.
One player they are pushing hard for is five-star Elijah Haven, who is the top-ranked quarterback in the 2027 class, something that head coach Billy Napier also landed in 2024 when DJ Lagway signed. They have regularly maintained contact with him over the course of the last few weeks and it's looking to have paid dividends, as Haven is currently planning a visit to Gainesville this fall.

“Gainesville, from what we can tell, is a great college town,” Elijah's father Kwame told Rivals' Steve Wiltfong. “The campus is extremely nice. They have what they call the GatorMade program which my wife and I are extremely excited about. The development and exposure for their players off the field, they travel internationally and do those type of things. They help them advance their careers outside of football. Also starting to get really close with coach (Billy) Napier and coach (Ryan) O’Hara and coach (Russ) Callaway. All three have been consistent with outreach and making us feel like a priority.”
Those are all really good things to hear from the camp of Haven. Being able to add him to the 2027 class where the Gators don't currently have a plan for life after Lagway would be huge for Napier, as this season will be the first where his recruiting classes are now the majority of the roster.
Things are far from over with Haven, but things are in a good place as we enter the season.
