Florida Gators Emerging As Top Option For 2025 Wide Receiver
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Florida Gators football under the guidance of Billy Napier continues to actively pursue talent for the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Their latest target is three-star wide receiver Dane Jones from Ridge Point High School in Pearland, Texas. Jones made his presence known in Gainesville during the recent contact period, marking his third visit to the Swamp throughout his recruitment journey.

Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 174 pounds, Jones has established himself as a promising pass-catcher. He boasted impressive stats during the previous fall season, tallying 50 receptions for 825 yards and an impressive 13 touchdowns.

His visit to the University of Florida campus left him with a positive impression of the Orange and Blue program.

“The visit went great. I got to build a relationship with the coaches and see the coaches more. I saw the facilities a couple of months back. This time, I got to see the whole campus — all the buildings. It’s a nice campus. It’s really big.”

Although Jones received his offer from the Gators last year, there have been some staff changes at Florida. Despite this, the high school junior maintains strong connections with the coaching staff, highlighting the program’s ability to foster relationships with recruits.

In the national rankings, Jones is currently ranked at No. 471 overall and No. 64 within his position, according to the 247Sports composite. On3, an industry-ranking platform, places him slightly higher at Nos. 463 overall and 71 within his position.

When it comes to predicting his future destination, the Southern Methodist Mustangs currently lead the way in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 37.5% chance of securing Jones.

Following closely are the Baylor Bears at 22.2%, Florida at 19.1%, and the TCU Horned Frogs at 8.3%. The competition for this promising wide receiver is heating up, and his decision will undoubtedly be closely watched in the coming months.
