The Florida Gators have a lot of momentum when it comes to recruiting . Head coach Billy Napier has done a great job writing the ship when it comes to high school recruiting. With the addition of five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson and flipping three-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny from their bitter rival Tennessee Volunteers.
In bolstering the 2025 recruiting class, the Gators finished with 247 Sports' eighth-best recruiting class, which is also the fifth-best in the SEC. That momentum has carried over into how the Gators are attacking the 2026 recruiting class.
Five-star prospects haven't been flush in the tenure of Napier. They have still found a way to get their fair share over the last two seasons.
The latest recruiting intel from On3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong has the Gators in contention for five-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho out of Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently down to five schools (Georgia, Oregon, Alabama, Penn State, and Maryland), but they are in contention to be the sixth school in his final six.
“The sixth one is between LSU, Miami, Florida and Texas A&M,” Iheanacho said. He got a chance to take unofficials to College Station and Gainesville in January.
Iheanacho doesn't just play offensive tackle, which is one of the more important positions in the game, he's currently the number two overall player and offensive tackle in the On3 Industry Rankings.
The Gators are taking a real interest in improving their offensive line. They are a finalist for three-star offensive lineman Bear McWhorter. Right now, On3's prediction has the Gators with an 8.3% chance of landing Iheanacho. Being able to bring him into the fold would be a massive win for Napier and give him the fourth committed prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.
