Florida Gators see positive development with DJ Lagway at beginning of fall camp that will ease fans' concerns

The biggest storyline surrounding the Florida Gators heading into fall camp has been the health of starting quarterback DJ Lagway. In the spring, Lagway didn't throw at all due to both shoulder and hernia issues that have been lingering since high school.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Lagway was dealing with another injury, this time to his calf, and it could keep him out of early practices. On Saturday morning, Lagway was out there throwing the football, and he looked good in doing so.

You can see that Lagway has a sleeve on his left lower leg, likely to help support his calf while he goes through practice. Just seeing him out there throwing is a huge deal with all the injuries that he's had to deal with as a Florida Gator.

With Lagway practicing, it gives him a major opportunity to get some chemistry built up with his receivers. That chemistry is going to be huge for the Gators, especially with aspirations to make the College Football Playoff. The main player he needs to develop that chemistry with is Trey Wilson, and they are already connecting on passes during practice.

The key for Lagway is going to be staying healthy. It's been a problem for him during his entirety on campus. If he can stay on the field during fall camp, it will go a long way to providing confidence that the Gators can make a playoff run.
