The Florida Gators begin their football spring workouts with the yearly spring game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Coming off a national championship in basketball this week, a lot of hype surrounding Gators sports sparked excitement for their spring game.

This year, the Florida Gator faithful packed the house with an attendance of 56,563, which is their largest spring game since 2009.

Who was the quarterback of the Gators in 2009 sparking an attendance that high? None other than Tim Tebow, one of the best quarterbacks in college football's history.

This year, DJ Lagway takes the helm as the Gators chase a national championship.

The season ahead for the Gators will be tough, especially looking at the away conference schedule in an incredible SEC.

They travel to LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Kentucky, as well as an out of conference away game at Miami, which will be daunting all season long.

Florida comes into the spring workouts with a lot of expectations, with Lagway being the starter for his first full season, as well as having the No. 10 ranked recruiting class in the country, according to On3 Sports.

They have plenty of wide receivers coming in to help Lagway be more comfortable, including five-star receiver Vernell Brown III, the No. 30 overall recruit in the country.

The Gators kick off the season with two home in-state matchups against Long Island University and South Florida, as they hope to build some early confidence at home before heading into the trenches of the season.
