The Florida Gators ran one one of the worst fourth down plays you'll ever see in the first half of Saturday's game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

On fourth-and-inches, Florida, for some bizarre reason, decided to line up under center and snap the football through the quarterback's legs to running back Trevor Etienne, who was lined up in the backfield.

Instead of picking up the first down, Florida lost several yards on the bone-headed fourth down attempt. And as a result, they gave the ball to Georgia on Florida's 31 yard line.

I don't know why the Gators didn't just run a quarterback sneak there. And really, this isn't just a Florida thing. We've seen far too many programs try to get cute on fourth down lately.

Look, if you need a trick play to pick up a first down on fourth-and-inches, then maybe just punt it instead. The results certainly would've been much better for Florida.
