Florida State has the chance to prove to one five-star recruit that he should be in Tallahassee for the foreseeable future

The Florida State Seminoles had a huge issue with the quarterback room last year. Now, they have since flipped a recruit from Oklahoma to add to their QB room, but it certainly feels like the Seminoles just need more in the room.

So, why not go after a five-star?

They have been, and will now have a chance to prove to him why he should be a Nole.

Seminoles have official visit with Keisean Henderson

Keisean Henderson is a five-star quarterback from the 2026 class, playing for Legacy the School of Sport Sciences in Spring, Texas. As a Texas kid, it's going to be hard to get him out of the state, but if anyone can do it, you have to feel like that's Mike Norvell, right?

At 6'3" and 185 pounds, he’s a dual-threat talent with a strong arm and great mobility, which is the exact type of quarterback everyone wants these days. And if you're FSU, you kind of learned last year what having a guy who can only do one of those can do to your offense. Ranked No. 2 quarterback and No. 5 overall by 247Sports, he’s also the top recruit in Texas.

Henderson committed to Houston on May 27, 2024, choosing it over offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oregon, drawn by the coaching staff’s trust in him as a quarterback and the program’s family atmosphere. But, because of Houston being, well, Houston, it feels like any team could really have a chance to prove to him why there is better out there.

He earned MVP honors at the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl with a 91-yard touchdown pass. Despite his Houston commitment, schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida State are still recruiting him. He has an official visit planned to Florida State but says he’s “locked in” with Houston. Of course, we will see how he feels after the visit. This is FSU's chance to prove to a five-star recruit why he should go to school there.

And, I'm willing to bet there are certainly some things that they could pull out that maybe Houston couldn't, like, I don't know, maybe some hardware?
