Florida State lands four-star RB over other big programs

Amari Clemons is a four-star running back from Marianna, Florida, and as one of the more sought-after running backs in his class, he's had plenty of options as it relates to college football.

Clemons made a decision on Monday, though, and he'll be sticking close to home and playing for Florida State.

"It doesn't feel like a recruitment process with them there. I'm comfortable, and it's close to home. I won't say that I'll be the only one to change that program because there are great athletes there, but I feel like I can be a part of that team that helps the program to get where it was at," Clemons told Dane Draper of 247Sports regarding his commitment.

Clemons took a junior day visit to Florida State in mid-January and he revealed to 247Sports that he knew at that point that he wanted to commit to the Seminoles. He took another junior day visit this past weekend and at that point, he knew he had to make it official.

"It was crazy. My mom and I had a long conversation about it, and she said whatever fits me. I told her about Florida State, because it's genuine inside the building, they never change, they always tell me the truth, never just told me what I want to hear, and it was just on from there," he said.

This is a big recruiting win for Florida State as Florida and Miami were also involved. According to the 247Sports Composite, Clemson is the No. 24 running back in the 2026 class.
