Gridiron Heroics partners with Draft Scout to give each school’s Top 5 NFL Draft prospects in the ACC. Welcome to a list of the Florida State Top 5 NFL Draft prospects, as seen by Draft Scout.

Each week brings us closer and closer to one of the most anticipated days on the sports calendar — the NFL Draft. This year’s draft will be held in Kansas City, Mo. from April 27-29. Starting today? We take a look at the ACC Florida State seniors, the class of 2023. Since we don’t know yet which underclassmen will declare? We’ll reconfigure the rankings when that happens, so be sure to revisit us.

Our ACC Draft prospect series will run beginning Nov. 7 and will run for the next week, with three schools running per day in alphabetical order. A master conference list of the ACC’s Top 20 NFL draft prospects will wrap things up on Monday, Nov. 14. Please check the team links below frequently so you can check out the other schools’ top prospects as the week progresses.

So, we all know that not every team in the country has five surefire draft picks on it. Some programs do, especially in some of the more elite conferences, but the vast majority don’t have that many top-flight prospects. But, we also know that the definition “top-flight” doesn’t always pan out, and at the same time that strong undrafted free agent everybody forgot? He ends up making an NFL and flourishing.

Below is a look at FSU’sTop 5 Draft Prospects, and how they project in the eyes of Draft Scout. Again, for now, we’ll go strictly with seniors (c/o 2023), as no underclassmen have been allowed to declare earlier yet, though when they do? We’ll update the lists below.

FSU TOP 5 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS

Florida State Top NO. 1 PROSPECT

NAME: Dillan Gibbons (G)

DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: 6-7 round

THE TRUTH:

Dillan Gibbons came to Florida State as a Notre Dame transfer in the transfer portal. He’s a 6’5, 327 lb offensive guard from St Petersburg, Florida. Since transferring to FSU he has won many awards including offensive lineman of the week, Bill Grothra Award winner, and honorable mention for All ACC and All ACC Honor Roll. He was the first Seminole to win Offensive Player of the week since 2016. Scouts see him being a late round draft pick as he has the size and strength but aren’t sure how he will transition to the NFL.

Florida State Top NO. 2 PROSPECT

NAME: Fabien Lovett (DT)

DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: HPFA

CAREER STATISTICS: xxxxxxxxx

THE TRUTH:

Fabien Lovett was another player from the transfer portal. He came in from Mississippi State where he 13 starts in 15 games. Lovett had 19 tackles with 2.5 for a loss and one sack while at Mississippi State.  He’s a 6’4 318 lb defensive tackle out of Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Since arriving at FSU he has appeared in 23 games with 15 starts. He has size and strength to play as a pro.

Florida State TOP. 3 PROSPECT

NAME: Camren McDonald (TE)

DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: PFA

THE TRUTH:

Camren McDonald is coming off a leg injury that cut his senior season short. At 6’4 and 240 lbs he is a threat in the red zone while also being good in protection. I could see him making a roster with tight ends being used more and more in today’s NFL.

Florida State Top NO. 4 PROSPECT

NAME: Ontaria Wilson (WR)

DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: PFA

THE TRUTH

Ontaria Wilson has improved each season and is looking to have his best one as a senior. Right now he’s fourth on this list, but I definitely see him moving up as well as maybe even being drafted in later rounds.

Florida State Top NO. 5 PROSPECT

NAME: Robert Cooper (DT)

DRAFTSCOUT PROJECTION: PFA

THE TRUTH:

Robert Cooper is a 6’2  335 lb defensive tackle for Florida State. His numbers don’t jump off the page at you but he has a higher ceiling if he can get meaningful reps and improve. Wherever he ends up Cooper will be fighting for a roster spot or even for the practice squad.

This is the seniors only Florida State Top 5 NFL draft prospects. We will be updating and putting out new lists as underclassmen declare for the draft.
