It's safe to say that the 2024 college football season did not go to plan for Florida State.
The Seminoles entered as a ranked team, a distinction they lost immediately after dropping their first game against Georgia Tech in Ireland.
They followed that with a 2-10 regular season and are not several steps below the conference's elite teams like SMU and Clemson, both of whom are in the College Football Playoff.
With the program on a clear decline, quarterback Luke Kromenhoek entered the transfer portal. A few weeks later, and Kromenhoek is already ready to commit to a new program.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Kromenhoek will be heading from the ACC to the SEC, where he has committed to Mississippi State.

Kromenhoek was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2024, ranked alongside top names like DJ Lagway, Julian Sayin and Dylan Raiola.
During his recruiting process, he received offers from many of the top programs in the sport, including Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee and Penn State. The Georgia native chose to stay relatively close to home with FSU, and he will remain close in Starkville.
The Bulldogs are looking to revitalize their football program next season after going 2-10 in 2024. They ended a long-streak of bowl game appearances with last year's 5-7 finish, and they haven't won more than nine games in a season since 2014 with head coach Dan Mullen.
The Seminoles were in an unfamiliar place this season as the worst college football team in the state of Florida. They lost to both Miami and Florida State this season in convincing fashion, two rivalry games their head coach will be judged on all offseason long.
For now, Mike Norvell is still in charge at Florida State for the forseeable future, and he'll have one of the top recruits in the country from a season ago fighting for the quarterback job.
Kromenhoek made two starts at Florida State, going 28-48 for 347 yards and three touchdowns in a game against Charleston Southern. The competition will ramp up in the SEC each and every week, and we'll see how the young quarterback is able to respond in his second college football destination.
