Florida State’s Mycah Pittman reveals how much NIL money he earned in 2022

Florida State wide receiver Mycah Pittman recently offered a peek behind the curtain of the current college football landscape.

While appearing on The Mental Sweat Podcast, Pittman revealed that his income was in the six figures last year. Pittman also revealed that he anticipates making between $150–200K in 2023. Notably, Pittman signed a NIL deal with Florida State-focused NIL collective “The Battle’s End,” back in January. The collective has been instrumental in convincing several Florida State stars to return for one more season.

“I’ll just tell you guys. I definitely made over $100,000 last year and I’m gonna probably make over $150,000 to $200,000 this year,” Pittman revealed on the podcast. “It’s a great opportunity, it’s a blessing. I was broke at Oregon, I didn’t have no money before the NIL.”

Pittman also alluded to the benefits of being a student-athlete at a traditional powerhouse like Florida State.

“Guys love supporting us and we have great people supporting us,” he said.

Pittman is also in a unique position due to his impressive social media following. He boasts over 75,000 YouTube subscribers, 93.8K Instagram, and 17.8K Twitter followers. Per Pittman, he has received “over $25,000 to tweet out something.” Even monetizing his YouTube account would have been prohibited in the pre-NIL days.

As for how he is spending his money, Pittman is keeping it simple.

“I actually look at my bank account and I can think of things I want to save, I want to invest in real estate, I want to use my money in the right ways,” Pittman said. 

The 2022 season was the first in Tallahassee for Pittman. He finished with 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns on the season. More success on the field in 2023 could help Pittman easily blow past his goal of 200K.

It’s not often you see a player be so transparent about money, but Pittman’s openness could change that.
