Florida's Offensive Line Group Receives High Praise From Former SEC Star

Head coach Billy Napier's squad will have the chance this year to do something many programs are incapable of doing in the NIL era. Alongside quarterback DJ Lagway, much of the offensive line from the 2024 campaign will return for the Gators this fall.

Starting left tackle Austin Barber, left guard Knijeah Harris, center Jake Slaughter, and right guard Damieon George Jr. will all return to Gainesville in 2025 after starting the team's bowl game victory. Meanwhile, former three-star tackle Bryce Lovett and Arkansas Razorbacks transfer Devon Manuel will compete for the final starting position.

On the Always College Football Podcast, host and former Alabama Crimson Tide starting quarterback Greg McElroy called Florida's front five the third-best in the country.

"You got Jake Slaughter back, who is big-time at center. Him being back is massive. Austin Barber is back at left tackle. A guy that was generating some NFL draft buzz decided to return. I do look at what you have back on the interior. The guard spot, I think you like those pieces," said McElroy alongside his co-host Cole Cubelic.

He continued, saying, "I would imagine you just have to figure out right tackle. Now, for the most part, this should be one of the best groups in the country, assuming all those pieces can come together and reach their collective goal."

Florida will open their season against the LIU Sharks at home in late August.
