Former Alabama LB Reuben Foster helps Pittsburgh Maulers win a division title in USFL
Julie Vennitti Botos / Canton Repository / USA TODAY NETWORK

A former University of Alabama linebacker is a champion again.

Reuben Foster helped the Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League to a North Division Championship in Saturday’s 31-27 victory over the Michigan Panthers. Pittsburgh was the worst team in the division last season, but Foster elevated it to a division title. He recorded 53 tackles and an interception in his return to professional football.

Foster has an opportunity to assist the Maulers to possibly win a USFL Championship. He was the leader behind Alabama’s incredible defense in 2016 as he earned the Dick Butkus Award, Unanimous All-American honors, and first-team All-SEC honor.

Foster, a former five-star in the 2013 signing class, helped the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015.
