Kentucky is not on the Crimson Tide's 2024 schedule, but the two schools could meet in an SEC Championship game if the circumstances play out for both programs.
Story joins defensive line portalees in Isaiah Hastings and Monkell Goodwine as players who have left Alabama and joined Southeastern Conference programs. Hastings joined the Missouri Tigers and Goodwine joined the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Story, the former AHSAA record holder for career touchdowns at Lanett High School, is utilizing his COVID-19 season to play his final year. He appeared in 38 games for the Crimson Tide across three seasons, but never made a start. He primarily contributed on special teams but was a quality rotational defensive back as well.
He officially is credited with 22 tackles, three pass breakups and one interception during his time in Tuscaloosa.
Story joins an inexperienced defensive back room where he will likely be relied upon heavily due to his experience and pedigree.
The 6-foot-1, 211-pound safety was considered one of the best athletes in the state of Alabama in the class of 2020. 247Sports rated him as the No. 5 athlete in the class and the No. 7 prospect in the stat of Alabama.
