Former Alabama Star Thinks Brian Kelly Should Be Fired

The SEC is a brutal, brutal place -- as is the world of college football. LSU head coach Brian Kelly is feeling both of those statements in every sense throughout November.

The Tigers entered the month in the thick of the College Football Playoff race. With a strong finish -- they would have found themselves in a strong position to make the playoffs.

In November, Kelly's LSU squad has taken a loss to Billy Napier and Florida, while also being blown out by Alabama in Tiger Stadium -- in a night game.

That's just on the field. This season, Kelly's playoff chances have fallen off the cliff. Fans are growing impatient. The head coach has to right the ship, and he's got to do so fast, as Kelly needs to prove he can continue building momentum within the program.

The future was looking bright, as LSU had some of the best future recruits. However, recently, the top quarterback recruit in the 2025 class -- Bryce Underwood -- flipped his commitment to Michigan.

Former Alabama star running back Damien Harris got quite blunt -- Kelly's time in Baton Rouge is up.

"I think Brian Kelly has got to go," Harris said on CBS Sports. "Year three is usually the year where he takes his biggest jump and where he has his most success. ...I think he's not fit for this culture.

"He's not a fit for Louisiana State University's football program. You've got your No. 1 recruit flipped. You've got other guys, other five-star receivers, that you're talking about might get flipped.

"For me, yes, it's about winning right now. But you're not winning right now, and although you are getting your quarterback back next year, you're losing commits, you're not doing well in recruiting. ...To me, there is no future with Brian Kelly right now."

Harris absolutely went in on Kelly. Hailing from the east coast, having spent time in the midwest, the former running back is questioning Kelly's fit.

There was momentum and potential in Baton Rouge this year, but that flopped. They had an absurd upcoming recruiting class, which is now in a scary spot with more potential flips.

Harris might have a point -- it might be a time for a fresh voice for the program, as his year three leap wasn't what it was supposed to be.
