Former Badgers’ cornerback Omillio Agard transfer to strong ACC program

Following his commitment and signing with the Badgers, Agard did not appear in any games during his freshman season in 2024. The cornerback sat behind a strong room of athletes a freshman before finishing the season with the decision to take a redshirt.

The 5-foot-11, 183-pound defender returned to Wisconsin for the 2025 season before taking on a much larger role suddenly. Agard was scheduled to be primarily a rotational player in the secondary for Wisconsin to start the season. However the lack of a ruling in favor of starting corner Nyzier Fourqurean, who battled the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility, resulted in Agard taking on a much larger role within the Badgers’ defense.

During the 2025 season, Agard recorded 22 tackles, a sack, an interception, and two pass defenses while playing in ten games and making three starts. The defender made his first career start against Iowa and his first career interception against Middle Tennessee.

At the end of this past season, the fate of Agard in Madison began to become murky as the Badgers were expected to add talent across the board. The departures of Ricardo Hallman (Graduation), Geimere Latimer (Transfer), and D’Yoni Hill (Graduation) left Wisconsin with a major need at cornerback. The additions of West and Robinson, who are both experienced starters, meant Agard likely would slip into a lesser role with Wisconsin during the 2026 season.

Agard will transfer to Virginia after sorting through his options in the portal for over a week. The defender will have three years of eligibility remaining after completing his move over the Cavaliers for the 2026 season.
