One of the biggest risers in the 2025 NFL Draft, former Kansas State defensive back Jacob Parrish, has been tearing it up in rookie minicamp.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Parrish with the 84th overall pick, and since the selection, the former Wildcat’s stock has begun to soar.
“What a great rookie minicamp for Bucs third-round pick Jacob Parrish,” ESPN’s Jenna Laine said. “He had a pick-six during a team period today after an interception yesterday. He’s been lining up outside and at nickelback. Excited to watch more of him.”
In his collegiate career in Manhattan, Parrish established himself as one of the best corners in the country over the better part of three years. The Kansas native recorded 108 tackles, five interceptions, and 19 pass breakups.
His development for the Wildcats was another token Kansas State success story as Parrish entered college as a significantly underrated prospect. Coming out of Olathe North High School in the Class of 2022, Parrish was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 1869th-ranked player.
Parrish will have his work cut out for him in Tampa Bay as he joins a group that really struggled to defend the pass last season. In 2024, the Bucs finished 29th in the league with 243.9 yards allowed to opposing offenses. They were just 13.5 yards away from last place.
