Former Bulldog Aaron Murray calls Stetson Bennett 'the greatest QB' in Georgia history

Following Georgia's 50-30 throttling of LSU in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, former Bulldog Aaron Murray crowned Stetson Bennett as the best quarterback in the program's history.

It's high praise for the senior, but Murray knows a thing or two about playing quarterback at Georgia. Murray led the Bulldogs from 2010-2013, finishing his college career with the record for the most touchdown passes in SEC history with 121, which still stands.

On Saturday night, Bennett had a performance worthy of Murray's title. He was nearly unstoppable against the Tigers, finishing 23-of-29 for 274 yards and four touchdowns, leading Georgia to its first SEC title since 2017.

Along with a talented arm, Bennett also has a sense of humor. When speaking with CBS Sports following the win over LSU, Bennett credited the players around him and threw in a humble brag for good measure.

"I've got good players around me," Bennett said. "I'm not that bad at football either. We got a good team."

While there's still more work to do, Bennett has already had an outstanding final season with the Bulldogs. Bennett not only finished with an impressive stat line, recording 3,435 passing yards with 27 total touchdowns, but he also helped Georgia clinch its first undefeated record since going 12-0 back in 1980.
