There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Clemson Tigers entering the 2025 season, as ESPN BET gives them the best odds (+110) to win the ACC and tied for the seventh-best (+1300) to win the national championship.
Of course, they've had a busy offseason, which includes dismissing running back Marquise Henderson, who was a part of the program's 2025 recruiting class and getting set to enter his freshman season.
That meant Henderson now had his choice of which program to land with through the transfer portal. On Wednesday, On3 reported that Henderson has committed to the Liberty Flames and will play under head coach Jamey Chadwell.

This is exciting news for the program, as On3 Industry Rankings places Henderson, who is coming out of high school, as a four-star recruit, the No. 11 running back, the No. 3 player in South Carolina and the No. 161 player in the nation.
He was effective in his four years at the varsity level for Belton-Honea Path High School. He appeared in 49 games, rushing the ball 629 times for 6,580 yards and 86 touchdowns while also having 57 receptions for 762 yards and nine touchdowns.
What makes his decision to land with Liberty even more interesting is that they were one of the teams to offer him a scholarship out of high school, but he chose Clemson over them.
However, Henderson now becomes the second running back that Liberty has added through this year's transfer portal, joining three-star Evan Dickens, who spent the past two seasons with Georgia Tech.
It remains to be seen if he can earn some playing time as a true freshman, after the Flames' offense had its ups and downs in 2024, tied for 59th in points per game (28.8) and ranked 38th in total yards per game (418.5).
